Tension/Tensile [1]

Here, we introduce solution videos of tension test including Bonding strength test, Breaking test, and Elasticity test.

In Bonding strength test, a bonded part is pulled to determine the strength. IMADA’s tension tester handles various test samples such as crimped wire, textile, rubber, and more. See the details in video below.

In Breaking test, a test sample is pulled until it breaks to determine the strength. The test samples could be thread, wire, film, paper, and more. See the details in video below.

In Elasticity test, an extensible sample such as rubber or spring is pulled to determine the rate of elongation. See the details in video below.

About Extract/Pull out test, see “Tension/Tensile[2].”

Corrugated Fiberboard-Determination of Bending for Score and Crease (Complies with JCS T0001:2000)

A box-making machine, also known as a carton former, opens the folded corrugated fiberboard to make a box. The machine may shut down due to the variation of force to bend the score and the crease on the folded corrugated fiberboard. Thus, the management and testing of bending force of corrugated fiberboard is necessary. This video shows how to measure the maximum force when bending the corrugated fiberboard complying with JCS T0001: 2000, by using IMADA customized attachment and testing equipment. Moreover, By using the graphing software, the transition of the force to bend the corrugated fiberboard can be checked visually.

Wire connectors pullout test complying with UL 486A-486B: Edition 3

This is pullout test of a crimped connector of wire harness complying with the corresponding part of UL 486A-486B: Edition 3. In this test, our auto crimp tester keeps pulling crimped connector of wire harness for 60 sec with steady force at a constant pace to check if the connector breaks or not. If you change jigs to hold connectors, you can conduct this test for various shapes of wire connectors. This test is carried out by using "Keep mode" of our auto crimp tester which allows users to conduct durability tests easily. Also you can implement measurements complying with other standards. Please see "Related Applications" videos below.

Lateral Box (Bottom Stop) Strength Test of Slide Fasteners (Complies with the corresponding part of JIS S 3015: 2019)

Slide fasteners (zipper) are widely used for clothes such as jackets, trousers, and skirts, and play an important role in closing them. It is necessary to check the strength of each part of the slide fasteners for quality control and usability evaluation. The test methods are described in JIS S 3015: 2019. This video measures the strength of a fastener when its lateral box (bottom stop) is pulled to break using a method that conforms to JIS S 3015-7.6: 2019. With the optional graphing software, it is possible to visually analyze the transition of force until the opening is removed. IMADA also offer solutions for other tests that comform JIS S 3015: 2019.

Cloth Button Pull-Off Strength Test

Force measurement is widely used for safety and quality control in clothes manufacturing. Cloth button pull-off strength test is one of the typical application.
What if a button comes off from a customer's relatively new shirt? The customer would be disappointed, and maybe have bad image to the clothes and the brand. Moreover, it is extremely dangeous if a child accidentally swallowed the come-off button. Therefore, it is very important to manage the sewing strength of the cloth button. This video shows the cloth button pull-off strength test with manual test stand. Manual type features low-cost and easy-to-use compared to motorized type, thus it is adopted in many factories. For more precise and repeatable measurement, the motorized test stand is recommended.

Cable Crimp Terminals Tension Strength Test(Complies with the corresponding part of IEC 60512-16-4: 2008 and JIS C2805: 2010)

There are 2 ways to measure the tension strength of crimped terminals, durability test and break test. The break test complying with the coresponding part of IEC 60512-16-4: 2008 requires you to determine the maximum force value when the terminal is pulled off. On the other hand, the durability test complying with the coresponding part of JIS C2805: 2010 requires you to pull the crimped terminal continuously at a certain force for 10 seconds, and check the connector part situation after the test. They are used for R&D and quality control.

Simple Corrugated Cardboard Sealing Strength Test

Sealing strength of corrugated cardboard is measured by IMADA's force gauge and a dedicated hook. You just insert the hook into the gap and pull it up until the cardboard is unsealed, the force gauge captures the maximum force value, which is the cardboard's sealing strength. It is used for quality control.
