Shear strength test of surface mount solder joint is performed based on IEC 62137-1-2 (2007) [Surface mounting technology - Environmental and endurance test methods for surface mount solder joint - Part 1-2: Shear strength test] (Corresponding part only). By using a dedicated jig, motorized test stand, and software, the detailed conditions described in the standard can be easily followed and the results obtained including the maximum force value and data in a graph. Such measurements based on JIS C62137-1-2 (2010) can be used in quality evaluation and management.
