Under the Japanese Law [The Plastic Resource Circulation Act], which went into effect on April 1, 2022, cutlery such as plastic forks, spoons is included in the 12 products subject to reduction. As a result, cutlery materials should be changed from conventional plastic to environmentally friendly materials such as wood. However, to make sure the quality, strength check is becoming increasingly important. This video shows how to perform cantilever bending test of wooden cutlery to check its strength by using IMADA measurement instruments. It is easy to adjust the pressing point of sample according to the scale of the dedicated attachment. Moreover, it allows visual comparison and analysis of cutlery made of different materials by graphing and overlaying the tested values. This test can be performed to check the strength of various cutlery.
