To measure the force to open the milk carton by hand (opening strength), the custom-made jig is used to measure the force to peel off the roof-shaped part of the milk carton. In recent years, universal design has been promoted in many packaging, and there is a demand for milk cartons that are easy to open even for elderly people with weak grip strength. By measuring the opening strength, the opening force can be quantified and objective evaluation becomes possible. Thus this test can be used in quality evaluation and management.
