Shoes have a variety of roles, from protecting feet to assisting to bring out greater performance in sports, and thus many types are available to serve the purpose. One of the tests conducted to realize safety and comfort is hardness measurement of a shoe sole. IMADA's force-displacement analysis unit can compress the sole at predetermined displacement amount and depict the force transitions by at most 5 graphs, which enables testers easily to find the difference in cushioning properties among different materials of the sole. Contact point detection function (limited model) allows measuring from the contact point despite the various forms of the samples. Since durability test can be easily iterated, this shoe sole hardness test is ideal for R&D purpose, i.e., verification of strength and durability influenced by weight reduction.
